Comprehensive pre-season preparation for elite players in HDC Slovakia

The program is designed for pre-season training for elite players. Based on a detailed diagnostics of the player's current level, individual training programs are created- micro-cycles of duration 2 to 8 weeks. The goal is to eliminate the weaknesses and further enhance the game skills that are needed to improve the on ice performance.

During comprehensive pre-season preparation in HDC Slovakia through 3 specific training environments: Ice, Dryland and Skatemill we individually adjust the volume and intensity of the player's workout load to achieve the optimal fitness level for his on-ice performance during a season. Our HDC training team made up of professional ice hockey, fitness and mental coaches, physiotherapists and regeneration, recovery and health specialists is preparing  unique pre-season which consist of:


  • Blood sampling and analysis (assessing the health of the player)
  • Evaluation of player's movement stereotypes FMS (Functional Movement Screen)
  • Testing of fitness-coordination skills (SportTesting Dryland)
  • Biomechanical video analysis of skating techniques on Hockey Skatemill
  • Wingate Test on Hockey Skatemill 
  • Stride Power Test on Hockey Skating Treadmill 
  • Monitoring of creatine kinase levels (player regeneration processes)
